Drumroll, please...
A first look at the cover for my debut, Who We Thought We Were + decide my next short story focus for me
Happy second day of spring!
Before I get into it, I’m asking my subscribers a question. I have two short story ideas tumbling around in my head:
A begrudged new owner of an electric toothbrush slowly descends into madness during the two minutes it takes to brush her teeth morning and night.
A baking hotline, advertised in fine print at the bottom of a square package of yeast, is not what it seems when a curious baker calls.
Please decide for me:
In cover news…
My debut, Who We Thought We Were, is a contemporary new adult fiction set in San Francisco, dealing with themes of identity, relationships (platonic, romantic, familial), and knowing when change is worth it.
To be completely honest, I’ve had my cover done since October.
It happened during a wave of excitement, when the figurative sun was shining down amidst the stormy clouds of editing. I found Roderick of KLR Covers via Reddit and was immediately drawn to his skill and artistic style. Easiest decision I’ve made so far during this book’s journey. Seriously, go check out his work.
Presenting … the cover!
Who We Thought We Were will be out this May, and subscribers to this newsletter will get to be the first to learn the exact release date, the summary, and more!
In the mean time, I’ll be reading an excerpt from my book at the inaugural Truckee Literary Crawl on Saturday, April 5. Visit truckeelitcrawl.com for more information.
